When a high school romance turns into lifelong love, it’s only fitting that a beautiful, hometown property plays backdrop to the big day. From a rustic yet refined ceremony to the happy tears that followed, every detail is chock-full of personality and love. Ending the evening with Birchtree Catering and sing-a-longs, Julie Cate captured it all here!
From The Bride…Gregg & I have know one another since high school and were married at my family’s home in Chester County, Pennsylvania this October. We wrote our own vows and the heartfelt ceremony left all our guests in tears, but luckily we had collected vintage handkerchiefs for our guests to use during the ceremony! The flow of our reception was different than a typical wedding; during dinner our friends and family gave many toasts and roasts, all done with impeccable wit and unabashed affection! After dinner there were several musical performances by our very talented friends, including a sing-a-long that had everyone up out of their chairs singing and dancing. Since the wedding was held on our property our guests pitched tents in the field and we celebrated into the wee hours of the night!
All our vendors, other than our photographer, were local. For photography we used Julie Cate Photography, Jennie Love of Love n’ Fresh Flowers did the the flowers as well as the reception and ceremony decor, catering was done by Birchtree Catering who used ingredients from surrounding farms, rings by Bario-Neal, and Hair & Make Up by True Beauty Marks. I found my Valentino dress, Marc Jacobs shoes, and vintage jewelry on Ebay.
