I love a good story behind the Big Day. And today’s ‘how you met’ story? It’s definitely the awww! kind. Elizabeth and Jeff’s romance started on the sidewalk as they passed by one another with their matching black and yellow lab sets and the rest is history. Photographer, Natalie Watson tells the full story below with her beautiful words and of course, imagery to boot. And even though those pups don’t make a wedding day appearance, I love them so for bringing these two together.
From Natalie Watson… It started with Labs—four Labs to be exact. Elizabeth, new to the St. Louis area as a post-doctoral fellow at Washington University, was walking her black and yellow Labs when she noticed a fellow dog walker across the street. He, too, was holding the leashes to a black Lab and yellow Lab. They waved and laughed at their “matching sets”—and that was the beginning. For the next couple of weeks, Jeff, an entrepreneur, and Elizabeth both surreptitiously began looking for the other while walking the streets of the Central West End in St. Louis. Soon they were stopping for longer chats, eventually meeting up for a concert and a World Series game. Within a matter of weeks, the dogs refused to part, and so did Elizabeth and Jeff. They were surrounded by close friends and family for a weekend celebration at Blackberry Farm.
