Luxury Al Fresco Wedding in Provence at Hotel Du Castellet

Welcome back to the Little Black Book Blog! Yesterday we featured a wedding film from one of our beloved LBB cinematographers, Chromata Films ~ a French Riviera Wedding... an enchanting three-day weekend celebration. Today, we have a Sunday Matinee Feature from another of Chromata Film's most recent weddings! This wedding weekend takes place in the very heart of Provence ~ it's full of light-hearted merriment and all-out fun. And yet, when the Rabbi speaks, during the ceremony, the full significance of the occasion rings clearly thru. All White Wedding from a Dream Team of Vendors

We are hanging out with our dear friends and crazy talented photographers, The McCunes, for one of the more luxury filled days we've ever had here on SMP. The kind of weddings that you see and just wonder in awe at A. how awesome it was for the guests that got to attend and B. what it must feel like to a TOTAL princess (or prince) for a day. There is the stunning bride and her cute groom (and maybe even cuter pup, Stella), BUT there is also a crystal clear dining table filled with antique roses, chandeliers draped in greenery, seriously the most beautiful antique inspired cake you've ever seen, OH AND Ali's mom surprised the couple with Lebanese Dancers who entertained the guests while the musicians played Arabic Music. Then, she provide donuts as a late night snack. I think Ali's mom and I are already best friends. Why Destination Engagement Sessions are Kind of Everything

I originally spotted this Engagement session through a video on instagram that popped into my feed. I was entirely and completely mesmerized. While I've seen these very lavender fields in the country side of France before - the cinematographer managed to capture a trifecta of loveliness in the golden setting sun, a stunning sparkly gown and of course, the beauty of the fields themselves. Why it’s OKAY to “Do You” on Your Wedding Day

As legend has it, traditionally "bridesmaids" were meant to protect the bride from those trying to steal her dowry while walking through the groom's neighborhood. And they wore similar or identical attire so as to confuse the evil spirits. The best man was meant to ensure that the bride didn't escape during the ceremony. He was chosen because of his strength and capability rather than his relationship to the groom. So yeah. Times have changed. And yet we truly are still beholden to tradition despite not really knowing the "why" behind it. So, here's a thought. What if we changed things up a bit. If instead of getting ready with the girls, she woke up beside him. Instead of drinking champagne or taking shots with the guys, he lovingly helped her get ready, gave her kisses throughout the day and got to hold her hand when she saw herself in a gown on the day she would be married. That is what Joy Proctor and April Baytan - with photographs by Amanda Wei - had in mind when they designed this shoot. And the result is so romantic, so beautiful and so inspired.

A Traditional Balinese Wedding with the Most Spectacular Photos We’ve Ever Seen

From what we can gather, it isn't easy to get married in Bali. You are required to have both a civil and a religious ceremony in one of Indonesia's only recognized religions: Buddhist, Christian Protestant, Christian Catholic, Hindu and Islam. Depending on your faith, there are a myriad of forms and documents that you must present and the country does not recognize same sex marriages. Admittedly, I am no expert on the process and really don't understand just how layered it is to have a marriage officially recognized in Bali, though I do know that the couple behind this particular wedding has me distracted enough from the nuances and focused entirely on the mind boggling beauty of the day. After Andrea was diagnosed with breast cancer while she and Aaron were first dating, he immediately stepped up to help care for Andrea’s two young children. He played a vital role in her successful recovery and asked her to marry him after the wonderful news came that her cancer was in remission. They share a beautiful love story and I was thrilled when they reached out for help with planning and designing their upcoming wedding.

An Intimate Vow Renewal at Sunstone Villa

It's not often that I'm at a loss for words when it comes to putting together a feature. But for this vow renewal, it took me twenty minutes to even start typing (in the best kind of way). It's so much more than a vow renewal, it's a work of art. Jen Huang's images are sweeping, soft and graceful. Camellia Floral Design crafted a melody of blooms that sing to late summer. Enjoy cupcakes perfected the subtlest blush frosted cake, while the table was woven with Silk & Willow and Plume Calligraphy supplied the loveliest paper goods. And the Bride? She donned Monique Lhuillier with Chiali Meng to make her glow. Did I mention Sunstone Villa served as the setting? I think I covered all my bases here... so much for being at a loss for words.
