A Late-Summer Fête in the Pacific Northwest

Wedding colors were neutrals with pops of blush, merlot, mauve, and greens.

Modern/romantic late-summer fête in the Pacific Northwest.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

It was our first evening in Miami and Charles suggested we take a walk before dinner. The sun was just setting and we (somehow) had the beach to ourselves when he got down on one knee and asked if we could spend the rest of our lives together. Easiest question I’ve ever answered.

I (the Bride) fell in love with a beautiful Elysée wedding gown but knew I also wanted a reception dress I could dance the night away in. I searched for the perfect dress for almost a year before fate brought me to Lisa Marie Couture. She brought my design to life in a custom silk gown and I’ve never felt more beautiful in a piece of clothing!

The vision for the Bride’s party was mismatched, colorful, and floral. The bridesmaids and the Bride’s sister (MVP) selected their own dresses/suits from various designers to suit their style.

The Groom and groomsmen suited up in classic tuxes from The Black Tux, and the groomswomen coordinated in black dresses.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

We wanted food to be a highlight and we wanted to showcase everything Seattle has to offer, so we opted for a PNW-inspired menu, including a raw bar with Pacific oysters, salmon, and locally-sourced meats, cheeses, and vegetables for a stunning charcuterie board. We also drew from some of our favorite local restaurants: our wedding cake from DERU Market, ice cream from Molly Moon’s Ice Cream, and a late-night snack of burgers and fries from the classic Seattle spot Dick’s.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

We wanted romantic, ethereal, blooms on our wedding day, and our florist delivered big time. The brides/groomsmaids carried bouquets of baby’s breath, and the Bride carried a lush cream and green bouquet of ranunculus, roses, white stock, and peonies.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We wanted something simple and delicious, so we picked two of our favorites from DERU Market and asked our florist to help us decorate them to bring them into the theme.[/field]

Live music was one of my (the Bride) must-haves. Our phenomenal band made the evening feel so elevated and kept the party going all night. Truly a highlight of our wedding!

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]There are so many special details from that day, but some of my favorites are our college friends serenading us with our sorority and fraternity songs.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]

As my (the Bride) something borrowed and blue, I wore a small blue charm on my bouquet that my bridesmaid wore on her wedding day. I’m the second to wear it, and it will be passed on to our next friend (another bridesmaid) who is getting married this year as her something borrowed/blue.

It turned out our wedding day was the UW-Stanford game, so to honor our roots as University of Washington alums (where we met), we had purple and gold touchdown shots passed around after the Huskies scored.
