4 Things All Fashionable People Do

If you know someone who always seems to have the perfect outfit for every occasion (even work), we’ll let you in on a little secret- this person definitely has some tricks up their sleeve. If you want to up your style game as well, here are 4 basic things you should start doing:

  1. Plan Ahead

One of the easiest ways to slip up and wear something sloppy is to put yourself in a situation where you wind up rushing to put together your look. Knowing this, all fashion experts understand the importance of outfit planning. If you don’t have time to plan the whole week’s outfits on a Sunday afternoon, at least be sure to always stay one day ahead.

  2. Stay In The Loop

If you want to stay on top of the latest trends, it’s important for you to keep in touch with other fashionable people in order to find some inspiration. Social media is probably the easiest option for this. Check out NYIAD’s style pinterest for some daily outfit inspiration and follow fashion influencers, celebrities and favorite brands on Instagram.

  3. Accessorize

Generally, most put-together outfits include at least one accessory- whether it be a scarf, handbag, or even a statement necklace. On the flip side of this, all personal style experts agree that over-accessorizing is just as problematic as no accessories at all, so be careful to avoid that.

  4. Don’t Be Afraid

If you’re ever checking out your outfit on the way to an event and you’re worried about overdressing, keep in mind that most experts say that if you’re unsure whether to dress up or down, the most fashionable people lean towards dressing it up a bit.
