An Opulent, Romantic Wedding at Sunstone Villa

As a wedding blogger, plenty of newly engaged friends and family have asked me, “Where do I start?!”. My answer every single time is: your venue. Find your dream venue or location and let that root give life to your wedding planning process. That’s exactly what this couple did, at the charm-filled Sunstone Villa no less, and the following captures by Jen Huang are sure to knock you off your feet.

From the Planner, Davia Lee… Rebecca & David were one of the sweetest couples I’ve had the pleasure to work with. They were very aware of their guests’ experience throughout the entire planning process which led to some wonderfully special touches and a night full of detail. Their wedding was a wonderful collection of artists, each the best at their trade, coming together to really bring a wonderful evening to life.

We started with the villa as the ultimate inspiration, embracing the love and old-world charm of the property. Next, we went into emotions of how they wanted the night to feel – romantic, timeless, classic & fun came to mind for Rebeccaand& David. After that we worked on their color palette which was a warm collection of fall hues of oranges, deep dusty pinks, and natural accents. We brought in lots of warmth through candlelight. Each area of the night was created to stand on its own but also to work together on a larger scale.

Their guests partook in a decadent dinner that started with small charcuterie boards being presented to each table, followed by a seasonal soup, wonderful entree & finished with a beautiful fruit platter. No detail was left untouched!

Some of my favorite little touches were: greeting guests at cocktail hour with tray passed cocktails, non-alcoholic included for those not drinking; having Larrissa paint the reception space onsite the night of the wedding; and the tasty dessert display that included his & her favorite sweets (his-peanut m&ms, hers-sour watermelons) & the mcconnells ice cream cart!

I would say that the thing that set Rebecca and David’s wedding apart was their love for each of their guests and their desire to honor how each of them contributed to their love story. One special thing they did for each of their guests was to write a thank you note to each person that was included with their escort card.
