A wedding day in Sonoma means good food, flowing wine, and stunning vineyard views as far as the eye can see. Dana and Charles gave their guests that quintessential wine country experience and the result was the ultimate celebration anchored in Greek Orthodox tradition. From Jesse Leake… Dana and Charles were excited to plan a wedding in Sonoma as this is one of their favorite places to come, spend time and enjoy great wine and food, on the weekends and they were excited to welcome many of their guests from the East Coast where they both grew up.
Finding the perfect venue was very important to them. They were looking for something unique, private, and modern. The Glass House was ideal as it is surrounded by the vineyards that were so important to the bride and groom, but also offered the highest level of sophistication and elegance. The groom’s Greek heritage was felt in their hosting of the ceremony at the beautiful Nativity of Christ, Greek Orthodox Church.
After a traditional Greek ceremony, guests were transported by shuttles, drinks in hand, to the reception venue in Sonoma. Actively involved with the florist, the bride added some sentimental touches such as a non-traditional guest book where guests signed rocks and put in a glass vase, family photos at the cocktail reception, a well thought out and designed back bar with uniquely displayed items and even a wine tasting bar with wines made from the surrounding vineyards. The cocktail reception also featured a wonderful raw bar and the guest house had a cheese charcuterie room, both were devoured by the guests.
Dinner was set around the pool with the Jazz vibe band, Ever Music group, playing in the background. As night fell and the vineyard’s rows were illuminated, the guests partied late into the night, snacking on late night savory bites, desserts and cake while the DJ spun party tunes until the last guests departed this amazing wedding event, fulfilled.
