As soon as the leaves start to change colors this year, you’ll start getting excited — and not just because it’s time for fall. It’s fall wedding season!
We’ve put together the following five crisp color combinations to make your fall wedding feel as fresh and exciting as the season itself.

It’s a bit of a myth that your fall wedding can’t incorporate these lighter, more romantic pastel colors. But a softer peachy color next to a sage green — and lighter versions of both of those shades, too — are much easier on the eye. Peach is the perfect happy medium: it will bring out the orange hues you tend to associate with the season without being too cliché or bright.

Navy and Burnt Orange
Rather than pairing classic navy with the fiery hue of changing leaves, try something a bit darker. You’ll be surprised just how sophisticated the color looks when juxtaposed with the dark blue hue. If you imagine a super elegant and romantic fall wedding, there’s plenty you can do to ensure the combination is as fancy as a black-tie affair.
For one, put your bridesmaids in floor-length dresses: they’ll be equal parts warm and glamorous. A fancy shrug will up the fashion factor, too. You can pair it will all the other trappings of a traditional black-tie extravaganza: cocktail hour, live music… the list goes on.
Light and Dark Purples
Switching gears from traditional tones of fall, you might also consider a purple-centric color palette. The hue is one that works year-round: you won’t be wanting for bridesmaids dress options in these colors. Pairing a soft lilac with a deeper eggplant will give you the drama, but retains some of the girly-ness you might miss if you choose a color scheme that’s directly inspired by fall.
Cream, Maroon and Gold
Maroon is another example of a subdued fall hue, and cream and gold just make the color of love a bit more romantic. By sneaking a little bit of pink in there, too — especially when putting together your centerpieces — you can make your scheme fall-inspired and romantic.
Mustard Yellow and Hunter Green
Finally, this warm combination screams “fall wedding” and ushers in some seriously earthy, rustic vibes. This is the type of color scheme that would do well with, say, a barn reception: twinkle lights and candles will cast a warm glow over colors that make us feel cozy.
A loose updo and lace gown would paint the perfect backdrop for a warm yellow bouquet. A fall wedding brings with it a wealth of inspiration as far as color, décor and location go.
