DIY Escort Cards: The Crafty Way To Wow Your Guests

We hope you’re ready to get your craft on, because we’re spending our day DIYing up some gorgeous additions to your wedding weekend and it’s sooo much fun. First, we teamed up with our friends at Spoonflower for these beautiful bridesmaid robes and now we’re tackling some escort cards using their stunning fabrics. Get ready to make a serious impression on your guests and dive into the simple instructions below.

Materials

An 8″ x 8″ Sample Swatch of Spoonflower Cotton Poplin, You can get 36 squares with one swatch of fabric but if you want each table to have a unique design, order 1 swatch per table. We used these designs.
Large Pinboard
Small Gold Pins
Gold Binder Clips
White Card Tags
Brush Pen
Watercolor Pen In Color Of Your Choice
Double Stick Tape
Pinking Shear Scissors
Yardstick

instructions

Use a yardstick to evenly space out a gold pin for each escort card on the pinboard, then set the board aside.

You’ll want to get one pattern of fabric for each table at the wedding. Cut fabric into squares about 1.25″ x 1.25” with the pinking shears. We eyeballed it, but if you’d like to be more precise, you can measure it out and using a chalk marker on the backside of the fabric to cut along the lines.

Place a small piece of double stick tape along the top backside of each fabric square, and press each square onto the bottom of a white card.

Dip your brush pen in a bit of water, then mix with your watercolor paint. Use this to write out each guests’ name on a card (be sure to coordinate to the correct fabric pattern for the guest’s table). Let dry ½ hour.

Hang the pinboard securely on a wall, or place on an easel. You can garnish with a few fresh vines or flowers for an extra special look.

Clip each card with a gold binder clip and hang on the pins in alphabetical order.

Be sure to put a swatch of corresponding fabric on each table number sign so guests can find their tables. Voila!
