Classic Peach & Gray Toronto Wedding

Although their plans for an outdoor ceremony got rained out, you’d truly never know the difference. Because when you’ve got a coordinator like Gush Events and a floral designer like Ooh La La Designs on  hand to whip up an indoor ceremony site in no time at all, you’ve basically hit the wedding vendor jackpot. Add in the absurdly gorgeous film images from When He Found Her, and this is one gallery you’ll never want to leave.

From The Bride… Lucas and I are both from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. My brother introduced us in touch when Lucas moved to Toronto and soon after we started dating. A short year and a half later on my birthday weekend, Lucas brought me to our hometown. He coordinated with my mom to plan a party at our family camp. When we got there Lucas worked hard to convince me to go for a snow shoe during a winter storm. While freezing and treading across the lake, he asked me to stop and watch a video he made on his phone. It was too windy for me to hear the words so I didn’t clue in right away that he was proposing until he got down on one knee! Meanwhile, his friend Kurt was secretly hiding in our boat house – freezing – but photographing the whole thing.

For our wedding we wanted to create a “happy” environment to reflect how we felt about the day. We worked with Liz and Danielle, from Gush Events to create a design that fit our vision perfectly. Little details like ribbon wands to wave at our ceremony and our wedding signage, reflected the celebratory feel. Our programs were held down by “wishing stones” that my Grandma had polished from Lake Superior. My mom embroidered cozy fleece blankets with our “wedding logo” from our invitations for guests to use if they were cold. We had a large sign from Etsy designer NarWall Boutique designed spelling out “You Are The Best Thing” which was the title of our first dance and our chair signs were from the same designer said “Avere and Tenere”, to celebrate Lucas’s Italian heritage.

Our ceremony was originally supposed to take place outside. We had nice weather during our first look, during a private picnic where Lucas and I read our vows to each other for the first time privately. Right before the ceremony started it started to rain – really hard. Although the rainy weather during our ceremony wasn’t our original plan it ended up being very fitting for us – our first date ended in rain, our first vacation south was a week of rain and now our wedding in the rain. It makes you really start to like the rain.

The reception was so fun and although we had 180 guests it felt so intimate. Our wedding party and guests sang along to the background music and the speeches were all so genuine and entertaining. We were in awe of the love and support from family and friends, and the incredible work of all our vendor team – Toronto truly has some incredible talent!
