And once you’ve fallen in love with this insanely chic duo, I promise you’ll love their wedding all the more. Photographed by Kyle John, I’m calling it “Southern Charm with a Modern Edge,” and if minimalist design makes your heart sing? This gallery is for you. Believe me, your Friday just got so much better.

From The Bride…Living and working in weddings in Chicago, we decided we wanted to get away from the midwest, and find a place where our family and friends would be excited to spend a long weekend. Evan had spent some time in South Carolina in college, so we started looking in Charleston. The beautiful mossy trees, charming city, and beach oasis completely drew us in. We spent many, many hours looking up venues, caterers and flower shops before we took our first trip down, and arrived with a short list of vendors to visit. We ended up only visiting Magnolia Plantation while we were there, and it was like paradise. We knew it would be a dream for Kyle to work there, and the intimacy of the conservatory was perfect for my vision of a lush, overgrown garden wedding.

With both of us being in creative fields, it was important for us to find vendors who had a strong vision, and we could let them run wild with our ideas. Kyle was the first vendor we found- we completely fell in love with his photographs, and laid back attitude. We knew he would be a perfect fit for our wedding. We really wanted tacos for our dinner, but we found a lot of caterers only offered low country food, or typical wedding options. We were so happy to find B. Gourmet- they took the menus from our favorite taco spots and created something that reflected our tastes and creativity. To this day, we still get compliments on the food!

Even though planning a destination wedding was sometimes difficult, we were so happy with how everything turned out. More than the wedding day itself, it was so fun to have our family and friends on vacation with us for the weekend, enjoy the city, and join us for the best dance party we could ask for!
