From Connie Whitlock PhotographyThis wedding was just so special – the bride, Maria, works for a large wedding rental company here in Denver, so you can image their details were amazing! Craig, the groom, hails from Scotland – and they incorporated lots of Scottish details into their design. A lot of their guests also traveled from the UK to attend, and brought some Scottish traditions to Colorado! From the kilts, to the bagpiper, to the beautiful hats the women wore to the ceremony. The Country Club at Castle Pines sits high up on the hillside so the landscape views were stunning and expansive. The guests enjoyed looking out over the foothills during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. The navy hues paired with ivory and gold accents popped against the backdrop and kept the wedding classic and timeless.

From the Bride… Craig and I have made CO our new home for the past 3 years, and knew we wanted to share what this beautiful state has to offer. We wanted our families from the east coast and UK to join together under one roof for our “Tuscan meets Colorado” themed wedding. Craig was born in Scotland and raised in England, so we knew we wanted to incorporate his Scottish roots. We had touches of the Scottish flower, a thistle, in our floral arrangements. Craig’s custom kilt was made of his family tartan, Earl of St. Andrews. I was gifted with a family heirloom.. A bracelet that dates back to 1925. The sapphires matched perfectly with our navy and gold color scheme. We were sure to please the taste buds for our guests, so we offered a late night snack of fish and chips & the jersey shore’s finest, caramel popcorn, fudge and salt water taffy. Our wedding day could not have been more beautiful. We had a perfect Colorado sunset behind the Rocky Mountains with our closest family and friends from our the world.
