#SMPwedding101: Secrets Your Wedding Photographer Wants You to Know

We fret over dresses and first dance slip-ups but as brides-to-be, we all sometimes need to take a little step back and breathe. Because let’s not lose focus on why we’re actually busy with all these DIYs and our never-ending to-do list. Anna of Bianco Photography is here to remind us of that. As a wedding photographer she’s seen her fair share of celebrations and knows a thing or two about what’s important on your special day – she’s sharing her tips below!

KEEP THE FOCUS

It might be easy to keep your mind busy with details and things to do for your day to be perfect until the very end, but on the actual day you should really try keep the focus on what is the point of it all: you vowing each other eternal love in the presence of your families and loved ones. Remember that it’s your wedding, you should be simply in the moment, enjoying it, not worrying about anything else: that’s when the best things (and best pictures!) happen.

BE YOURSELF

Pinterest and blogs are a huge source of inspiration; I personally spend hours wandering through loads of wonderful images. This might also be a bit confusing, though, when it comes to planning your wedding. When you’ll be in the actual process of choosing your style, remember this is your wedding and it should talk about you and the love of your life… be yourself and imagine your own world, in your unique way.

PLAN THE FAMILY FORMALS

You might not be interested in having them, but surely some of your relatives are going to ask for these pictures when you’ll be back from your honeymoon. I usually ask my couples to give me a list of required family formals and someone who knows, more or less, both families to be in charge to help me group them: this way things are going to run really smoothly and fast while shooting, you won’t lose much party time and you’ll have your pictures (even if it’s a “just-in-case” situation).

PRINT YOUR PICTURES

It doesn’t matter if you print the pictures with your photographer’s help or by yourself, or if you’ll get a fine art album or a scrapbook instead: what is really important is you printing your most precious memories. This is important because a “digital memory” is somehow two dimensional, while having your album in your hands makes the whole experience much more involving, much more complete. And one of the most beautiful days of your life definitely deserves that.
