Insider Tips to Pull Off A White-On-White Celebration

I love a pop of color as much as the next girl, but sometimes there’s no better color palette than no color at all. *Enter* the event design gurus at Easton Events who so graciously offered to walk us through their tips and tricks to planning an all-white party. Whether a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, or just a casual summer dinner party, there are a million reasons to opt for white-on-white and today we’re showing you how. Thanks, Lucy Cuneo for the pretty snaps sitting all right here!

MIX TEXTURES + SHAPES

Mixing textures and shapes is the ultimate trick to dressing your table in white on white. For this particular event, we paired a vintage lace tablecloth with stacked french porcelains. The porcelain collection varies in patterns and style so we mixed them for each place setting. This technique added interest, but because the palette is tonal, the mixture never felt distracting to the eye! Likewise, the heirloom silver and cut crystal champagne coupes have intricate detailing, but given the neutral palette, the designs on the whole are balanced and not overly busy.

PLAY WITH SHADES

Explore different shades and tones of white – some of the most beautiful white floral arrangements range from bright white to soft cream just like the phalaenopsis orchids compared to the soft cream garden roses. You need subtle change in tone or texture to add depth and interest to your design.

PULL IN SILVER

When working with a clean white palette, we think silver is the softest approach for flatware and vessels. It never hurts to mix in your favorite mother of pearl touches too!

PLAY UP THE MENU

Embrace the theme with your menu! For this southern brunch we chose to serve a beautiful cheese board, deviled eggs, buttered baby radishes, cauliflower panna cotta, and a tres leches dessert. The culinary palette was not purely white, but we certainly gave the theme a gentle nod.

DON’T FORGET THE BUBBLY

A white-on-white soiree is the perfect opportunity for white wine and champagne… which also makes it a well-suited brunch or luncheon look!
