Can we just say how much we LOVE this idea! Instead of opting for the original engagement session, Rachel opted to do a Bridal session wearing not only her wedding gown, but also wearing her grandmothers (talk about sweet!). Filled with vintage inspired details, one gorgeous Bride-to-be, and fancy florals, Krista Turner Photography captured it all in The Vault!
From Krista Turner Photography… I have a confession. As photographers, we place lots of emphasis on the importance of engagement shoots before the wedding day- get comfortable in front of the camera together, we tell couples. It’s vital to your wedding photos! But, I confess: when Rachel asked about foregoing the engagement shoot for a bridal session, I was thrilled at the chance to photograph something different.
And then, the icing on the cake: she wanted to wear not only her wedding dress, but her grandmother’s dress too- vintage and stunning and the same dress even her own mother wore thirty years ago- truly a family heirloom.. She also wanted to sneak in a few quick photos in the dress she’ll wear for her own wedding this fall, but Grandmother’s dress (and beautiful bride Rachel) were the stars of this show.
So we met in a private studio space in Atlanta, put on some Frank Sinatra, and pretended it was the 1940s again. Rachel’s grandmother’s dress was a stunning cream with the rounded shoulders, long sleeves, and a gorgeous train- perfectly fitting for a bride in the 40s. Rachel brought a few of her closest girlfriends and her mother, which made the afternoon feel especially meaningful. She even brought some old photographs of her grandmother in this beautiful dress; it was the sweetest way to involve her grandmother in her wedding day.
