Bouquet Breakdown: Romantic + Traditional Hawaiian Wedding Inspiration Bouquet

Happy Saturday, loves! When this romantic tropical bouquet popped up in last week’s Romantic + Traditional Hawaiian Wedding Inspiration I knew I had to get the scoop on all the stunningly lush pink and white florals that went into this beauty! Thankfully, Maui-based floral designer, Christina Hartman of Wildheart Flowers, was more than willing to share, and we’ve got all the deets below!

Romantic + Traditional Hawaiian Wedding Inspiration

  • 2 Sprays Pink Phalaenopsis Orchids
  • 5 Stems Light Pink Shell Ginger
  • 5 Stems White Tuberose
  • 9 Stems White Ranunculus
  • 5 Stems White Parrot Tulip
  • 4 Stems Dracena Foliage
  • 10 Stems Maidenhair Fern
  • 3 Stems Alpinia Foliage
  • Adorn Hand-Dyed Silk Ribbon (3″ and 1.5″ widths)

From Christina Hartman… The bouquet was created to be very tropical, soft and romantic. Although our usual ideas of tropical florals are bright and bold, there are many different textures and softer colors in the tropical blooms and foliage. As my love of flowers has evolved, so has my need to look at what I can use that is growing at my back door; what is in season, and what is the environment in which they will be experienced.

With the historical Haiku Mill as the backdrop, replete with its rich heritage of “Old Hawaii”, creating something that felt ‘local’, tropical and romantic at the same time was the focus. Working with O’Malley photographers was nothing short of a dream. They captured the Mill and all the softness we were hoping to create beautifully. When we began discussing the concept for our shoot, we kept centering on the idea of capturing the essence of Hawaii, and its beauty, but not its typical beach wedding vibe.  We wanted to tell a story that felt rich in local tradition. The bouquet is composed primarily of locally grown materials. So, by using what is growing here on island, we easily establish a sense of connection to this magical place.
