Searching for the perfect locale to throw their “Island Affair” getaway, this stunning twosome landed squarely on the always awesome Casa Marina; a little piece of paradise that managed to turn each and every one of their wedding dreams into an absolute reality. It’s vacation meets wedding, all set against that Old Key West ambience that, put simply, makes your heart happy.

From the Bride… After 8 years together, it was important to Jason and me that our families and friends, who were spread throughout the United States, had more than just one night to come together and celebrate our long-awaited wedding. Our happiest times together were by a beach or out on the water, so it was fitting that our oceanfront destination wedding was our unique way of bringing together our favorite people in our favorite setting. And, who doesn’t want to be on a beach in March after a long, cold winter?
“An Island Affair” – that was the name of my Pinterest board where I spent months collecting inspiration for a chic oceanfront wedding filled with cool blues and greens found in succulents, palms, bridesmaid gowns, and ocean waves. While the Casa Marina is technically on a key (Key West), it housed the perfect setting for the beautiful, fresh island wedding we so desired.
It was that time of evening when everything goes still and the colors in the sea and sky turn to soft pastels as I walked into the ceremony with my eyes glued to Jason – the only movement being the pelicans diving for their evening catch. Ben Howard’s beautiful guitar ballad “Old Pine” was being played but fittingly, we had the word “palm” replacing “pine”. I could have stayed in that moment forever.
The rest of the evening was a dreamy blur – sweet moments savored throughout the ceremony, a smashed glass and the perfect kiss, oysters and jazz on the beach, a first dance, memorable toasts, the horah, dancing, dancing, and more dancing. And then there was some crowd surfing and fiddle playing to top it all off. What a night. The best night. With the very best people. I am filled with love and gratitude thinking back to it.
