Colorful Lombardi House Wedding

This Independence Day wedding is a true East-meets-West Coast affair. Set at L.A.’s historic Lombardi House, it excludes a classic New England-esque charm while still feeling entirely California cool. Thanks to the careful guidance of Bookt Events and HollyFlora, the couple pulled off a subtle Independence Day palette, with Magnet Street behind every pretty paper moment. From The Bride…We’re both from the East Coast and as soon as we saw the Lombardi House with its New England colonial vibe, we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. The barn was not only a beautiful space for the wedding ceremony, but during dinner we converted it into a dance floor for the late night festivities and it was a perfect party space too. We were able to stay at the Lombardi House for the whole weekend along with our immediate families, so it also gave us a bit of the destination-wedding feeling, while only being two miles from our home.

Our wedding was on the Fourth of July, so we knew there would be fireworks. We wanted to complement this with a décor of rustic elegance. The Lombardi House itself is such a beautiful structure, with its pure white paint, that it makes a perfect backdrop for whatever colors you choose. With the help of our wedding planner, Belinda Lui of Bookt Events, we decided on a palette of reds and purples because we wanted the bright colors to give a nod to the festivity of the holiday, without it feeling too Independence Day thematic.

Belinda guided us to amazing vendors like HollyFlora for flowers, Town and Country for rentals, and Urban Palate for catering, and then made sure that everyone was working towards the same vision. She also connected us with photographer, Sylvie Gil who captured not just the beauty of event, but also the spirit. The final result was both exactly what we had always wanted and beyond our wildest dreams.

We both agree that the most amazing moment was when we first walked down the aisle during the ceremony to see all of our friends and family there to celebrate with us. The barn is such a simple structure; it has an intimate charm. The floral decorations elevated it perfectly. We could not imagine a lovelier place to get married.
