Glam Garden Party Wedding in Santa Monica

There’s a list of vendors I’d wholeheartedly trust with my own wedding day, and they’re called our Little Black Book members. We like to think of them as the best of the best, and luckily this couple totally got the memo. They brought on Bob Gail Special EventsJL Designsonelove photographyCasa De PerrinFound Vintage Rentals and La Tavola Linen to pull off their garden party-inspired day and The Vault is home to every last image. Take note, ballroom brides. This is an indoor celebration done right.

From The Bride…Scott and I met traveling. We lived on opposite ends of the country but learned that we’d both soon be moving to LA. With a combination of an instant connection and perfect timing, we started dating, and the rest is history!

Since Scott and I are both transplants to California, we had guests coming in for the wedding from all over the country. We wanted the feel of the wedding to highlight our incredible lifestyle living near the beach. We chose the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica as the center of the wedding weekend. In addition to creating the perfect home base for our guests to gather by the pool during the day and in our Bungalow to prepare for the wedding, it was situated on the beach and helped showcase our active, vibrant California life.

For the concept, we enhanced a traditional ballroom wedding with details that reflected our life in California and helped give our guests a glimpse into what makes living here so special. The key detail was soft but vibrant colors throughout. The bridesmaids dresses and flowers featured an array of pink, purple and coral colors. We wanted guests to feel like they were in a garden for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and the range of purples and pinks offered softness for the ceremony, and a bold feeling for the cocktail hour and reception.

We had an incredible team of vendors who helped bring the details we envisioned to life. They made the event feel like a truly California affair, taking advantage of the outdoor space for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and presenting flowers that felt organic but elegant. Most memorable was the giant fig tree that served as the focal point for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Our lighting team added lanterns throughout it, which were dimly lit at the start of the ceremony and gradually got brighter as the sun set. The fully-dressed tree created an incredible backdrop for the ceremony and cocktail hour and provided an image that we’ll never forget.
