Elegant Seaside Wedding with a Pop of Orange

The wedding industry is a tight-knit circle, and when one of our ties the knot it’s one seriously happy day. In the words of the Bride, Hayley of Laurie Arons Special Events, “The day truly felt like a dream – being able to marry the love of my life while being surrounded by co-workers and vendors that have turned into my family.” That vendor family includes a whole crew of A-list talent, and Joel Serrato captured the images we might never get over. From The Bride…It was so fun to be on the other side of the wedding planning process. Laurie Arons and some of our favorite vendors took great care of me, as I was for once the Bride! The day truly felt like a dream  – being able to marry the love of my life while being surrounded by coworkers and vendors that have turned into my family. We wanted our day to be focused on fun, love and happiness. Laurie, Katie, Amy and our team helped create that with little surprises throughout.

Our ceremony on the beach in Half Moon Bay was very family-oriented. Our grandmas were our “flower girls”, our sisters were the ring bearers along with our beloved dog Ted, and Dave’s uncle became ordained to marry us.

We had our reception in Dave’s parents backyard, because it felt intimate and special for our family and closest friends (60 guests). I was wowed when I walked into the backyard to see the beauty that was created just for us – it brought tears to my eyes! Kathleen Deery Design created the perfect seaside setting that included Dave’s favorite color – orange. I loved the nod that Kathleen gave to Dave’s science background, with beautiful florals in test tubes on our bar. Laurie also surprised me with fun place cards that were bright pops of color hidden under the Casa de Perrin pewter chargers.

The cocktail hour was a blast. We 3 specialty cocktails and custom napkins that said “Every great love story begins with a cocktail” (at least ours did). I loved the capiz wind-chime escort display with Samantha Singson-Martin’s calligraphy and the fun lucite cocktail menus by Amber Moon Design.

People are still talking about our wedding meal. We worked with Paula LeDuc Fine Catering to incorporate some of our favorite foods – buttermilk fried chicken, roasted butternut squash, macaroni & cheese and a Spanish salad (we got engaged in Spain). The cake by Perfect Endings was as delicious as it was beautiful.

One of our favorite memories from the day was our sunset shoot – we smiled, kissed and took in being married – while our friend, the super talented photographer Joel Serrato, continually made us laugh. We are already talking about an anniversary party because it was the best celebration we have ever been to!
