From The Bride… It’s Ali here from A Dash of Details spilling all of the details from our wedding day. Being a blogger, I could not have imagined a better place than Style Me Pretty to share my wedding planning journey. Now that we are enjoying newlywed bliss, I can honestly say the year leading up to our wedding was the most fun and exciting year of our relationship. From the first day we met with our wedding planner, Jennifer, to the moment Patrick carried me in the rain to our honeymoon suite, it was the fairytale wedding I always dreamt of. Here’s how it unfolded…

After we got engaged, we started discussing our dream wedding. It was no surprise that we both wanted a spring outdoor wedding, or that Patrick just wanted to make my fairytale wedding dreams come true. When we first stepped onto The Montelucia property, we knew it was the place we were going to get married. The ceremony location’s stunning Camelback backdrop and cozy ballroom sealed the deal. Similar to our style, we wanted our wedding to be a reflection of us. Our vision was for our guest to feel like they were walking into our home for a dinner party.

Jen, our wedding planner, from Imoni Events took our Restoration Hardware-meets-classic style and created the most amazing design plan. From the rustic wood bars with the monogram I designed, to the soft La Tavola linens, to the sprawling eucalyptus garland from Butterfly Petals, our vendor team did not miss a detail.

The night before our big day, my best friends stayed the night in our bridal suite. We had dance parties, jumped on the beds and laughed until we cried telling stories about growing up. It was one of those moments in time I will never forget. Having my bridesmaids by my side was such an important part of our entire planning process, so I really wanted to give them something special for being a part of my big day. When they arrived into the bridal suite on Saturday morning they were greeted with a gift bag filled with an Eberjey Robe, a monogram hanger for their dress, a pair of BaubleBar earrings and a glass of champagne to get the party started.

It was a surreal feeling looking at my dress hanging in the bridal suite. I knew when it came to my bridal look, I wanted something timeless and classic. Monique Lhuiller has always been one my favorite designers so when I tried on my dress, I just knew it was the one. The layers of soft tulle and Chantilly lace were just perfection! My amazing makeup artist, Stephanie, created a natural, dewy look with a rose colored lip. My hairstylist, Morgan, kept my hair simple by adding loose curls with a few stands pulled back from my face. We added a cathedral length veil for a little drama during the ceremony. Since Patrick is a foot taller than me, these Stuart Weitzman’s were the perfect 5 and half-inch heel. After a day of fun with all my favorite girls, it was finally time to see the man of my dreams.

A big decision in the planning process was deciding on a “First Look.” We went back and forth on this decision, but with the help of Jen and Elyse, we chose to have a private moment before the ceremony. Ultimately, we decided we wanted to be able to enjoy as much of the night with our friends and family. I wouldn’t change that feeling of calmness when I first saw Patrick for the world.

The ceremony site was even more romantic than I could have ever imagined. Hundreds of white roses hung from the pergola, which created the backdrop for the ceremony along with the breathtaking view of Camelback Mountain. Wooden cross-back chairs with white cushions flanked the aisle and Butterfly Petals created the most beautiful olive leaf, eucalyptus and white rose garland that draped the back of the chairs.

Our wedding planner and I wanted to make sure there were personal touches throughout the entire day. As a gift to Patrick and I, she surprised us with a beautiful wood sign with our names that became the centerpiece of the escort board. The escort board was my favorite detail from the day. Page and Mason created the most beautiful watercolor swatch escort cards on an oversized pin board flanked with white garden rose and eucalyptus garland.

For the reception, we wanted our guest to feel as if they were at an intimate dinner party (even with our 200 guests). Our long head table was covered with navy and white ticking stripe La Tavola linens and Butterfly Petals draped a lush green garland filled with white peonies and garden roses that spanned the entire table. Candles were intertwined within the garland for the most romantic feel. The other tables were filled with different white floral and greenery collections in wooden boxes, antique silver trays and stone vases featuring handwritten wooden table numbers created by Page and Mason. Each place setting had a paper bag menu with an individual fresh baguette (my favorite). The custom wooden bars featured the groom’s favorite craft beers.

The most talked about detail of the wedding was The Hip Booth, a fun photo experience. Our planner re-used the roses from the ceremony to create the backdrop and fun props made for some great still motion pictures! Everyone got to take home a little memory from our wedding.

Instead of a takeaway for our guests, we decided our guests might enjoy a little take-out. If you have ever met me, you would know my favorite food is French Fries. It is even part of my childhood nickname. My mom and I created these take-out containers filled a sweet and salty treat for our guests to take back to their rooms.

The best part of our entire day, other than saying “I do,” was dancing the night away with all of our favorite people, even my 92 year old Grandpa was on the dance floor. We were blown away by our band, Sapphire Sky. The music was so important to us when it came to planning our wedding and we loved that everyone was on the dance floor the entire night. The band continued for an extra hour because no one was ready to leave! It was truly unforgettable.

A big thanks to our parents and all of the vendors that made our fairytale wedding come true. Thanks for following my wedding planning process on Style Me Pretty. Be sure to stay tuned for a recap of our honeymoon in Costa Rica!
