The moment I hear ‘Southern Wedding‘, it’s routine for me to drop everything at hand and cozy up to my screen for some sweetness. Because Southern soirees, like this Pecan Springs Ranch gem, are woven with a love, tradition and beauty that run as deep as an oak tree‘s roots. From The Bride…Adam and I are both very simple people and I wanted our wedding to have a simple, natural, romantic feel. The most important part for us was to have all our best friends and family there to celebrate with us, so we opted to fly home to Texas and get married right outside of Austin.
When I first visited our venue and saw the oak tree I knew that would be the perfect spot. I also loved the playful vibe of the lawn games and love barn. For my bridesmaids, I chose dresses that looked feminine and romantic. We also wanted to tie in (no pun intended) small pieces of Adam’s love for the outdoors and fly fishing so he hand tied the flies that we put in the boutonnieres. Adam’s grandfather who is deeply rooted in love and an amazing example of commitment married us under the oak tree. We pray that we will be examples of love to pass down to our future generations just as he has been to us.
For the reception, I searched high and low for the most fun band I could find. We feel that we have the most unique group of friends and we knew our dance party would kill it! We threw out all the traditions of cake cutting and bouquet tossing to maximize our dance party time and it was well worth it! We could not be more thrilled with how our wedding day turned out and felt that it was the perfect picture of our personalities and relationship.
