From Kelly of A Savvy EventWith a just less than one year to design and plan their big day, Nicole and Bryan Castro certainly hit the mark with this sweet and dreamy, yet decadent Napa Valley wedding. The couple (with planners Kelly McLeskey-Dolata and Meren Dehaze from A Savvy Event) approached their vision adding heaps of graceful and personal touches along the way. The finished product was an extraordinary event, unforgettable for all involved.

Her Bridesmaids in beautiful long soft pink gowns and his Groomsmen in dapper suits and colored bowties added to the elegance against the serene backdrop that is Meadowood Napa Valley, their chosen venue. Before it all began, Bryan surprised Nicole during their “first look” moment with the most special gift: their wedding vows printed on framed canvas to hang in their home.

The ceremony took place on the lush greens of the golf course on a late October afternoon. The sophisticated sounds of a trio band complete with a massive golden harp glistening in the late sun really set the tone. Nicole describes the walk down the aisle with her father as the “longest walk ever” as they whispered words to each other laughing under their breaths and taking in every moment as she stepped another foot closer to reciting her vows. Adding to all of the special and personal details of the day, her uncle Mike served as the officiant. The couple floated elegantly through the ceremony reciting their own vows as the sun started to come down in the October sky.

As the couple’s cocktail hour grassy lawn, the sky became even more beautiful with the “magic hour” lighting we all love so much. The dark wooden bar stood high and Italian bulbs strung over the guests as they began to toast to the couples happiness. One of the most memorable moments of the day for the bride and groom was the moment they stepped foot into the dining tent, as they saw their dream come alive surrounded by family and friends. And just before, their planner suggested the couple stop, breathe, and take it all in. Looking all around, there was no escape from elegance as guests entered the tent on the Manor Lawn. The collaboration of many succeeded in creating this absolutely stunning ambiance. Twilight Design came up with a custom lighting scheme. The ceiling was dripping with eclectic décor including floral, ivory and crystal chandeliers hanging at different levels. Long, draping green garlands twirled around the tent poles.

The tabletop design (Frances Lane) included subtle hues of pink including rose colored glasses and dashes of ivory, gold and just the right amount of greenery. Nancy Liu Chin Designs worked her magic with perfectly suited centerpieces highlighting these colors. Tabletop votive candles were provided by Theoni Designs (a special debut to their tabletop décor company opening shortly after this event.) As dinner came to and end a beautiful dessert display with varying levels of sweetness (Sweet on Cake) provided the finishing touch to a delicious meal. After dinner, everyone danced, twirled, and swayed the night away to the sounds of AMFM Downbeat LA, one of Southern California’s hottest bands! Nicole and Bryan’s wedding was the epitome of sophistication, storybook elegance, and most importantly of all, true love.
