I was thisssss close to calling in the big guns when planning my own Big Day. I’m not ashamed to admit there were a few close teary calls and while it all came together in the end, if I were to do it again, I probably would ask for some assistance… you see, there are just some situations where no matter how talented you are or how much time you may have, a pro’s advice is priceless. Here’s five situations when it’s just plain smarter to put down the papers and pick up the phone!
1. Large Guest Lists
Having the whole town attend your elegant affair? If there are just simply too many people for you to manage yourself, an extra set of hands (or two, or three) is not only helpful, but practically necessary to ensure everyone’s details can be accounted for.
2. Beyond Basic Destination Weddings
If guests need to book trains, planes and automobiles to get to your gorgeous venue, it doesn’t hurt to have a pro to assist with all those lovely logistics. Delegate however you can!
3. Short Engagements
Eager to tie the knot and not drag out the drama? We’re all for a short engagement (under six months is fast by typical standards) but when everything needs to be rushed a bit more than usual, it’s a wise idea to have a helping hand manage all the quick moving parts.
4. Busy Bees
Is the time constraint not on the engagement period itself, but on your own availability? Consuming 24/7 job? If you don’t have the time to meet with florists and pick out envelope liners, let a pro step in and keep things running on schedule.
5. Party Un-planners
Or maybe you have all the time in the world… but no real interest in debating peonies vs. roses. That’s OK! But to guarantee your wedding doesn’t have the same laissez faire approach, seek out a planner to guide you and get those items crossed off your list so you can go do what you really want during your engagement – spend time with that future partner of yours!
