Blogger Bride: Boxwood Avenue’s Napa Bachelorette Party

Hey SMP friends! It’s Chloe here from Boxwood Avenue, I am so excited to share photos of my bachelorette party with all of you today! A few weeks before my wedding, my girlfriends and I had the opportunity to traveled to Napa to celebrate my final days as being a ‘Miss’. We stayed at the Westin in downtown Napa, dined at some amazing restaurants, and of course, did a day of tastings.

We stopped at Honig Winery, and later had a picnic lunch from Oakville Grocery – the oldest grocery store in California (tip: call ahead to place your order)! We ended our trip with a fabulous sparkling wine tasting at Domaine Carneros, and finished with mudslides at Solage Spa in Calistoga. If you haven’t traveled to Napa before, Domaine Carneros is an iconic stop that you can’t miss. The chateau was inspired by the classic 18th century Château de la Marquetterie in Champagne, France – which is the home of Champagne Tattinger. It is perched up on a hill overlooking the valley, and makes you feel as if you are in France. We started our morning off with a bottle of their sparkling rosè, then finished with a full tasting, and a delicious cheese plate. There’s nothing better than starting the morning off with bubbles, can I get a yes was rosé!?

We then made the (Beyonce and Bieber filled) drive to Calistoga to spend the rest of the afternoon at the Solage Spa. Solage is the kind of spa you could spend days at; they offer treatments, relaxation, fitness classes, and food. What more could you want? The girls and I opted to get group mudslides, because it is one of the spa’s specialties. We imagined sitting in bathtubs full of mud, and were all a little nervous about the whole situation. In reality, we were given a bowl of smooth clay-like mud that had been infused with essential oils, and rather than sitting in it, we rubbed it over our bodies to draw toxins out (which I am sure were abundant after a weekend filled with wine and cheese).

After our mud treatments we relaxed in a poolside cabana, lunched on fish tacos, and reflected upon our amazing weekend. I am usually such a stick in the mud when it comes to putting on sequins, and going out on the town; so spending the weekend in Napa was the perfect way for me to enjoy my bachelorette party. It was such a wonderful alternative to the traditional celebration, and a weekend filled with priceless memories!
