From Julie Mikos PhotographerWhen Tina and Spencer and I photographed their e-shoot, I knew I would LOVE photographing their wedding too. Such a sweet and in love couple!

Amy Nichols of Amy Nichols Special Events always does a stunning job of event design and coordination and this was no exception! We’ve worked at the Ferry Building together before and I knew how stunning it could be, but Amy once again blew my socks off with the lovely navy blue and white theme which was so suited to this waterfront location. The florals by La Fleuriste were simple and elegant and of course the food by Paula Le Duc Fine Catering and team was incredibly good. I loved that they served lamb chops for dinner. How much more elegant can you get!

Tina and Spencer were just as in love and glowing on their wedding as day as at their e-session. We had a blast walking from our first look at The Four Seasons over to Yerba Buena Gardens for our photo shoot and even though the gardens were crowded on a Saturday, we managed to make it look like we were the only ones around. Then off to the Ferry Building for such a lovely ceremony and after that fabulous dinner, a kick-butt dance party with band Pop Fiction.

From Amy Nichols Special EventsIt was a huge honor to work with Tina & Spencer on their wedding planning process. Shortly after we met, they settled on the Ferry Building as the perfect venue for an iconic San Francisco wedding. Tina knew early on exactly what aesthetic she wanted and what she gravitated to. Her words to me were “nothing rustic!”. She and Spencer wanted to celebrate the city where they met (San Francisco) and now live.

During the wedding planning process, I worked closely with Tina and her mom, Arlene. We worked with the Paula Le Duc Fine Catering team to select a fresh, seasonal menu and wine pairings that truly highlighted the best of California. We also partnered with Lidia from La Fleuriste to choose a very classic, timeless look to the centerpieces, largely in whites and greens which were a great contrast to the navy, gold and brown tones we used as accents. Tina selected invitation designer Coral Pheasant to choose a very modern, yet still classic invitation suite featuring a bookmark adorned with the Ferry Building clock tower. The rest of the paper suite matched perfectly with minimalist programs and menus.

One of my favorite details was also Tina’s stunning Carolina Herrera dress — wow! The photos that Julie Mikos took of the day were truly breathtaking.

Hands down the most memorable moment of the evening though was a surprise performance half way into their first dance. While both attorneys, there was nothing stuff about Spencer & Tina’s first dance. Spencer has a (not-so-secret) love of hip hop dancing. Halfway through their first dance, there was an abrupt music change and they broke into a killer choreographed dance routine to Jay-Z and Beyonce’s “Bonnie & Clyde” that had their guests screaming with delight.
