Blogger Bride: Politics of Pretty Parisian Inspired Bridal Shower

Kara Manos here from Politics of Pretty to share my Bridal Shower! It’s not every day you enjoy a Parisian bridal shower brunch. My maid of honor, my sister, along with my bridesmaids hosted the lovely affair. The décor was on point — think soft pink hues, black and white stripes and all tied together with fragrant roses galore.

Sticking to the French theme, guests sipped on mimosas while noshing on things like chicken salad croissant sandwiches, miniature quiches, fresh fruit, and my personal favorite, my mom’s homemade French Toast Bake.

We played two really fun games—Bridal Bingo and ‘He Said, She Said.’ It was fun testing friends and family on how well they knew my fiancé and I. The highlight of the day was when a family friend and my sister surprised me with a man playing the accordion and singing French love songs like La Vie en rose. Everyone was surprised and enjoyed the live music!

Being a beauty blogger, I thought it was only appropriate to pay homage to the Parisian theme by partnering with one of my favorite cosmetic brands that has always had a playful-take on beauty. Jouer Cosmetics graciously gifted my guests with a gorgeous customizable makeup palette—moisturizing lip gloss, powder eyeshadow, highlighter, a lip enhancer, and mineral powder blush. They went above and beyond by wrapping these gifts in my bridal shower color scheme—complete with a faux pink flower on top. I really wanted them to take away the wonderful memories of the shower in something they could use every day.

My friend and pastry chef, Andi of Tart And Craft, designed my delightful bridal shower cake—vanilla with raspberry preserve filling and buttercream icing. It was so delicious, I made sure to save a piece for my husband-to-be! She also made a Croquembouche—except instead of crème puffs she used donut holes—and tied up it with a bow.

It was a true Parisian affair and I’m so grateful to my friends and family for being there to celebrate my upcoming nuptials. Now, I’m off to make final preparations for the most important day of the year—my wedding! xx
