Elegant Santa Monica Tiato Wedding

One part modern plus one part rustic equals a whole lot of pretty, in my book. Throw in the cutest bride and groom with a 12-year love story and you get a wedding worthy of a “Finally!” cake topper indeed. Elegant white blooms by Lilla Bello dressed up the day, and Honey Honey Photography is to thank for every last image. Head to THE VAULT and let’s get started.

From The Bride…My husband, Jonathan and I met during our freshman year in college. As I walked down the residence hall, we locked eyes when he yelled “You! I’m gonna write a song for you!” and we have been inseparable ever since. Our wedding was just like our almost 12 year relationship; a little whimsy, a whole lot of romance, and quite the adventure!

We wanted our guests to feel transported to a lush vineyard the moment they arrived. Our venue, Tiato, already had amazing, existing pieces; so we utilized their rustic carts as a gift table and water station, as well as their wine barrels as cocktail tables and place card display. Our phenomenal florist created floral installations that served as our ceremony and reception backdrops as well as a floral chandelier above our dessert bar. We hand-selected every detail from the vintage loveseats, cross back chairs, taupe and blush linens, down to the mercury glass votives to make sure we stayed true to our style.

Food was also of utmost importance and we wanted our guests to enjoy food as much as we do. We had Crustacean’s famous garlic noodles served in miniature take-out boxes and kobe beef pops as part of appetizers, a Bottega Louie dessert bar, and Carmela Ice Cream served some of their delectable ice cream as our night cap.

My advice to planning brides? Just like in any relationship, don’t sweat the small stuff! At the end of the day, it’s about you and your husband. Lastly, do not be afraid to think outside the box and have some fun. Instead of the “Wedding March” I walked down the aisle to Maxence Cyrin’s piano cover of the Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind” and in lieu of a signature cocktails sign, we opted for a picture of good ol’ Lionel Richie with the words “Open bar Lionel Richie Style…all night long!
