I’ve always wished I could get away with throwing around “y’all” in conversation, but to a Midwest girl it just feels off. So today I’m abandoning my roots to live vicariously through this Charleston bride who’s a Southern girl all the way. Along with her handsome beau and Ivy Robinson Events, she planned a classic-as-can-be celebration at the Lowndes Grove Plantation and Corbin Gurkin captured behind the camera. From Ivy Robinson Events… Jordan and Schuyler met at a friend’s wedding (who were also in their wedding!) They dated for 3.5 years and were engaged May 16th, 2014 at Litchfield Beach. They took their dog, Lolly, on walk down the beach and he dropped the ring (on purpose) in the sand.
Charleston was always one of their favorite cities and close to her family and friends in Charlotte and his in South Carolina. Their style was “classic with an edge” and their wedding monogram was blend of both personalities. He is a big hunter so horns were branded into the logo.
Also, since all the groomsmen are hunters the guys wore Brackish Pins in lieu of traditional bouts, which are made locally in Charleston. Boho Ink out of Charlotte custom painted every bridesmaid’ initials on hangers and they were packaged with custom designed jewelry from Kristin Hayes.
At the reception, the Photo Booth backdrop was designed with horns coming out of it as a hunting nod. And to add a lil laugh we had a 6 ft cutouts of Jordan and Schuyler highlighting their rivalries of Clemson/USC + Canada/USA and Lolly the dog was wearing a jersey of the Groom’s grandfather’s that played for a Canadian Hockey Team
