Citrus Inspired Couple’s Shower

If you’re one of those people hanging on to the last bits of summer before pumpkin spice everything takes over, this couple’s shower is for you. It’s sweet as can be with bright pops of yellow plus playful nods to the bride and groom’s home states, and it has everything to do with the vendors behind it. Melissa’s Fine Pastries made the prettiest of cakes, Baraya Hall designed the details and Marissa Lambert is to thank for every image in The Vault.

From Baraya Hall Event DesignWhat New Orleanian doesn’t love a good party?! So, when we were approached to design a couple’s shower in honor of a bride hailing from Pennsylvania and a local groom, we envisioned it to be a chic summer celebration. We learned of the bride’s love for a good Pimm’s Cup, a refreshing and fruity gin cocktail that originated in England, and from there, our idea for a Polo-inspired, preppy chic garden party was born.

Infusing soft cremes and dove greys added the perfect amount of warmth to the all-white color palette. Bright and cheery pops of orange and yellow also complemented the neutral theme and were achieved by incorporating citrus arrangements in the décor, cake and drink garnishes. As a nod to the preppy theme, we designed a custom crest for the couple that was replicated on the invitation suite and favors.

All of the elements of the décor, from a custom built bar and floral boxes to the linens to the dessert table, were designed to be very tailored, neat and tidy. Silver trays and trophy vases adorned the tables and were reminiscent of the summer Polo matches of the English countryside. Guests nibbled on fruit ceviche, tea sandwiches and caprese skewers to keep cool and accompanied it with traditional New Orleans soul food. To integrate the couple’s native states, we created Pennsylvania and Louisiana themed favors complete with a sweet treat for the guests to take home.

We worked with some of the industry’s most creative event professionals to achieve our vision and their collaborations couldn’t have been more perfect!
