Erich Mcvey is one of those photographers who could point his camera at a brick wall and the images would all be stunning. So put him smack dab in the middle of the dreamiest mountaintop wedding you ever did see, and we’re sitting on a wedding gallery goldmine. I can promise you that, dear reader. Teamed up with Sasha Souza Events and Flaxx Floral Design, this literary-inspired day marries elegance and whimsy, and you can discover it all inside THE VAULT.
From The Bride…We came across photos of Malibu Rocky Oaks estate and knew immediately that it was the perfect venue for our intimate wedding. We envisioned an elegant affair that incorporated our love for writing and literature. We used library cards as escort cards, named our tables after our favorite authors and also included our favorite literary quotes.
For my wedding dress, I decided on a custom organza-frayed and corseted-top Monique Lhuillier, as it was the one that was hardest to forget, and had all the elements I was looking for in a dress – drama, sensuality and individuality. I chose a non-traditional red Vera Wang in a mermaid-style silhouette for my second gown, as I wanted something bold to dance the night in.
Finally, we were fortunate to have so many incredible vendors who brought our wedding vision to life. It truly was the culmination of many months of thought, collective effort and the talents of those around us.
